Sarah Hirini (nee Goss) has developed into one of the leading sevens players in the world. The current Black Ferns Sevens captain has several accolades to her name including Sevens World Champion 2013 and 2018, Olympic silver medallist in 2016 and four-time World Series winner. She was named New Zealand Rugby’s women player of the year in 2017 after her efforts in both sevens and 15s. She also won World Rugby Sevens, UL Mark of Excellence Award in 2018.
Sarah has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Maori studies and Sports Science at Massey University. Hirini's iwi is Ngāti Kahungunu.
